Anime is pretty much the only source of Nihongo for most people, so learning
words from anime is pretty typical. Learning to speak it fluently, though, is a
whole 'nother level!
Also... If anyone plans on mastering the Japanese language, or any foreign
language for that matter, I recommend they get an absolute grasp on their native
language first.
Quote by SuperionUnitCan someone
tell me exactly how to classify "trance" electronic/dance music? I
really don't think that whole breakbeat thing applies to me, but can someone
explain that too?
This site will give you a general
idea of electronica. The descriptions may be biased, it's fine though!
Trance you listen to may have a breakbeat buildup or breakdown, I dunno... could
also be progressive breaks.
Quote by aria-chananyone have any more
suggestions on trance I can follow up on?
When Gouryella was
formed, they ruled the trance world. I suggest anything from them...
"Gouryella", "Tenshi", "Ligaya", or
"Walhalla." There are good remixes of them too, of all kinds.
Apoptygma Berzerk - Kathy's Song (Corsten Remix) is also an great track from a
while ago.
First heard that from a Doboy mix, Trancequility 17, still my favorite of all
his sets.
I'd suggest more but then I'd just get carried away!
oooh yes I like trance like any other EDM genre.
No fave DJ in particular, there are just so many great ones! Tiesto, Corsten,
PvD, Yahel, Yoji Biomehanika, Ronski Speed, Gabriel & Dresden, Blank &
Jones... the list goes on.
I love how trance is global, you really don't have that for any other kinds of
music these days.
Kinda sad how it isn't catching on in the US as much, but that's expected;
people here are already brainwashed by terrible clear channel radio and MTV.
A song to define love, huhhh...
It seems somehow impossible to define something so exclusive, such as love, from
something so impersonal.
Then again, a lot of things can be extracted from a song... So I'll choose one!
Though there really are so many.
Milosh - You make me feel
...First heard it earlier this year, from a website no less. >>This
website<<
It's part of a very inspired flash movie, where it takes your current weather
and creates the "mood" with different colors and effects. Pretty nifty
^^
If this anime/movie trend continues, we're in for a real nice ride!
I mean here in the US, Hollywood has been making movies based on comics
(superheroes) for a while now, it's about time they did the same thing with
anime/manga.
Looking forward to this movie; the emotions and war tragedies in the anime were
phenomenal.
I just hope it will be subbed and released in North American theaters soon after
the opening in Japan.
Aren't you legally inclined to brief your 'subjects' about the purpose of this
experiment? Even if it is just online :P
In any case, I'll go for holy/light.
It gives us perception and a sense of existence! It's a vivid and powerful
element when seen, yet gentle enough to go unnoticed.
Hmm, winter is both beautiful and bothersome...
The faint smell of fireplaces, the sound of plows scraping the road, the cool
crisp air, the sparkling blue snow just after the sun has set. It's all very
nostalgic.
...When there's a blizzard out and you're stuck home it may feel somewhat, shall
I say, cozy? As if your place is off in the clouds.
During the day just after a nice coat of snow has fallen, it feels as though the
earth itself has been reborn; a blank canvas to start over.
But of course... the snow is such a hassle when you want to go out and drive, or
if you have no heater, brr!
Shoveling is also tiresome after so much
Spring is refreshing, like after a long cold dormant you're ready to go out and
feel the warm air once again.
It is a bit damp at first since the snow is melting, but it's a nice combination
of warm weather and cool breezes.
I can go on and on about the seasons, but I guess I'll just leave it at that.
Quote by CharmaynardYeah, for
instance, Zoro's name from one piece was changed to Zolo. What's the point? Zoro
would have worked just fine!
Sometimes in order for readers
to pronounce a name correctly, they have to spell it with an L.
Since R and L are pronounced the same in Japanese, "Zoro" is properly
pronounced "Zolo." If it's the English dub and they literally called
him "Zoro" (like in Zorro) then that would be the wrong pronunciation,
despite the spelling.
The same goes for Kirara, Rui, etc...
But if they change a name completely, it is rather frustrating. Even if it's
easier on the viewer, it's still annoying especially if you watch subs/manga and
dubs interchangeably.
Since most Japanese practice either Buddhism or Shintoism, there's only like a
small portion that are actually Christian... so is Christmas just a
non-religious holiday focused on decoration and giving? Surely the conglomerate
benefits from this, just like in western cultures but without the religious
ties.
I do have a vague idea of what Christmas is like in Japan, just from what I've
seen in anime or have read in some articles.
It seems the Japanese have adopted many holiday customs; decorating homes and
stores with festive lights and ornaments, in addition to holiday sales, parties,
Christmas music, etc...
Since it's December and the end of another year, there are also "end of the
year" parties (of the bonenkai season) that sync up with Christmas and New
Years celebrations. So I guess there's more going on than just Christmas, but
there are still a lot of similarities. That's globalization for ya!
Anyway I know there's a lot of info missing, so what else goes on in Japan
during this month of peace and joy?
Well my ava is Fai; blonde hair & blue eyes. I have the blonde hair, but
green eyes. And glasses.
Though the attitude of the char is similar--passive, optimistic, and
carefree!
...Or something like that
I'm not talkin' about small chuckles, 'LOL,' or "mm ya, that's funny."
I'm talking about those anime scenes that made you go absolutely hysterical!
Something so funny where the joke kept going and going, making you laugh more
and more until you start to tear up so much that you become unable to see the
screen yet you still know exactly what's going on since you're already laughing
at it, and no matter how long it goes on it just kept getting funnier!
Before you know it the scene is over and has subsided, and the pains of laughter
start to fade as you get back to the progressing story. But you're left with
this content feeling, being able to let it all flow like that is something
great.
Well, we've all had that moment I'm sure. And even now when you think back to
that scene you can still feel that ray of uncontrollable laughter surging
through your body, you just can't help it!
So anyway, forgive the rambling... Any scenes come to mind that made you laugh
so much it HURT?
This year's fall series? hmm, there are many good ones to choose...
Best Animation ----- Noein; very original and overall excellent!

ways, but none stand out too much

nice electro house

You are a cute angel. You are really sweet and
pure person and you love to help others. You are a little bit shy and not so
sure about yourself.
heyy a good ol' fashion angel quiz. Always a lark, except for some peculiar
questions...
But the pictures were quite lovely and sizeable! And I didn't expect to see
Vengaboys on that haha *bounce!*
Empathy and sympathy. Your friends can count on
you when their world is falling apart, and you are great at showing other people
the big picture. Even though you may not be the most hyper-active one, you are
good at staying calm and collected.
More snowy results, is there a blizzard coming? It's already snowing out
:<
anime pics are cute as ever... snow angels! yap
Snow. You are a sweet and quiet girl, and you
aren't close to many people. But the only ones that know the real you are the
ones that you chose to open up to.
"sweet and quiet girl?" What a
sexist quiz XP
ahh... oh well
I noticed that in animes, as if there is some kind of vocabulary hierarchy.
Aside from online guides, I'm gunna get some books for Christmas, yatta

how about a fisherman's hat? AKA bucket hat.
In fact I wear one, but it doesn't look good on just anybody
There are also beanies, but those are kind of common...
Anyway, you can check out the wikipedia hat page HERE.
Not all hats listed are described, you can always do an image search on them though.
Mesdames, Messieurs, bonsoir--
I'll be accompanied by my dearest friend, of course
